Ground Breaking for the Leola Dorsey Day Resource Center – June 8

DorseyCommunityCenterAndrea Ingram, Executive Director of Grassroots Crisis Resource Center, will join other community leaders at a groundbreaking Wednesday, June 8, for the Leola Dorsey Community Resource Center. The facility, which will be managed by Grassroots, will replace the current resource center in Jessup. It will provide crisis intervention services and meals, showers, healthcare services, laundry facilities, computer access and a variety of social services to people who are homeless. The building will also include 35 efficiency apartments managed by Volunteers of America, a national nonprofit organization. The center will be named in memory of Howard County trailblazer and community leader Leola Dorsey who died in 2009.
