On March 19 and 20, Howard County Police Academy Class 39 will participate in a community service and fundraising event to benefit Grassroots, Howard County’s 24-hour crisis intervention center and shelter for the homeless.
The event, Sleep Out To End Homelessness, will begin at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, at Glen Mar United Methodist Church and conclude at 7 a.m. on Friday, March 20 in the church parking lot where the recruits will spend the night in recognition of the people in our community living without a roof over their heads.
Sleep Out To End Homelessness donors are encouraged to contribute a monetary donation for each of the 14 hours a recruit spends outside.
Donations for this event are being collected in person and online. If you want to make your contribution online, simply place the total amount of support you are providing a recruit within the box just under the online support counter below and click the adjacent DONATE button. You will be taken to a Grassroots’ PayPal page to complete the transaction.
Grassroots is a 501.c3 organization and donations are tax deductible.
Thank you for your generosity.
