Howard High Hosts Empty Bowls Fundraiser

  • March 2, 2016
    5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The National Art Honor Society, the National Honor Society and Culinary Department at Howard High School are hosting “Empty Bowls 2016,” a community fundraiser for Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center, on Wednesday, March 2, from 5 to 8 p.m., in the cafeteria.

Soups will be prepared by the Culinary Department faculty and students. The Art Department will create 300 unfinished bowls for painting by attendees and later will kiln-fire the bowls for pick-up by guests. For $10, guests can both create a bowl and eat soup. For $6, guests can eat soup or create a bowl.

All of the proceeds from the event go to Grassroots, Howard County’s only 24-hour crisis center and homeless shelter.

No reservations are necessary for Empty Bowls, and attendees pay at the door. Howard High School is located at 8700 Old Annapolis Road in Ellicott City. For information, call 410-313-2867.
