QUESTION PERSUADE REFER (QPR) GATEKEEPER SUICIDE PREVENTION TRAINING

Just as people are trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver to help save thousands of lives each year, people are trained in QPR to save a life from a death by suicide. QPR stands for Question Persuade Refer and teaches someone how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis, how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. The Howard County Nonprofit Center includes offices for the Howard County Housing Commission, HopeWorks, Association of Community Services of Howard County, Bridges to Housing Stability, Camp Attaway, Compass, Inc., Heritage Housing Partners, Howard County Autism Society, READY, Howard County EcoWorks, United Way of Central Maryland and Volunteers of America.

The Association of Community Services has been working with the Howard County Housing Commission to improve access and coordination through shared quarters at the Nonprofit Center for providers of human services. The address is 9770 Patuxent Woods Drive, Suite 200, Columbia, MD 21046.
