“Night Out” Raises Funds for the Homeless

Our Lady of Perpetual Hope’s Tom Rolando raises funds for Grassroots.

image001Braving freezing temperatures to teach his students about homelessness, Our Lady of Perpetual Help School 5th grade teacher Tom Rolando set up camp on school grounds and spent the night outside. During his second annual “Night Out,” Rolando collected food and money donations for Grassroots, Howard County’s only 24-hour crisis intervention center and shelter for the homeless. The event brought in $1,148.50, 275 pounds of food and 20 blankets and towels, thanks to the generosity of the OLPH school and parish community.
