Facility

The Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center on Freetown Road in Columbia is 25,000 square feet. It houses a 33-bed family and women’s shelter, and an 18-bed men’s shelter. The on-site, 24-hour crisis intervention service includes hotlines and walk-in counseling. The Mobile Crisis Team is also located on-site.

From Baltimore:
Take I-95 South towards Washington.  Exit at Route 32 West towards Columbia. Get off at exit 17 Sanner Road/Cedar Lane.  Bear right to head north on Cedar Lane. Make a right at the traffic light at Freetown Road.  Grassroots is located at 6700 Freetown Road on the right. We are the building right after Atholton High School.

From Washington, DC:
Take I-95 North towards Baltimore. Exit at Route 32 West towards Columbia. Get off at exit 17 Sanner Road/Cedar Lane.  Bear right to head north on Cedar Lane. Make a right at the traffic light at Freetown Road. Grassroots is located at 6700 Freetown Road on the right. We are the building right after Atholton High School. The Visitor’s Parking lot is out front.

From Columbia Mall area:
Take Route 29 South.  Take exit 17, Shaker Drive/Seneca Drive. Make a right at the top of the exit ramp. Make a left at the stop sign onto Martin Road.  Make a right onto Freetown Road. Grassroots is located at 6700 Freetown Road. We are the third building on the left right before the high school. If you pass Atholton High School you have passed us.

From Southern Howard County:
Take Route 29 North.  Take exit 17, Shaker Drive/Seneca Drive. Bear right at the end of the exit ramp. Make another right to cross over Route 29.  Make a left at the stop sign onto Martin Road. Make a right onto Freetown Road. Grassroots is located at 6700 Freetown Road. We are up the street on the left right before the high school.  If you pass Atholton High School you have passed us.
